Chef Benjamin Meyer embraces various elements of Asian Cuisine by introducing an exquisite dining experience within a casual atmosphere. The introduction of his cuisine received a warm welcome from Chen Chow Brasserie, one of Michigan’s most dynamic venues.

Chef Meyer accepted the task of pleasing this unique establishment that seats over 300 guests. The diversity of Chen Chow gave him more reason to take the challenge. Chef Meyer offers a menu that features composed entrees and introductions as well as a variety of Maki Sushi, Nigiri & Sashimi. Chef Meyer’s ability to enhance the personality and character of this independently owned restaurant is inevitable.

Prior to Chen Chow Brasserie, Chef Meyer assisted in the opening of both Michael Mina restaurants, Bourbon Steak and Saltwater at the MGM Grand Casino in Detroit. He was the Executive Sous Chef and Purchaser for both establishments. Previous to MGM, he accelerated his craft working closely with Chef Don Yamauchi as Chef de Cuisine at Tribute, as well as, his training with Chef Scott Mickelson of Paragon on the 24th floor of the Grand Pequot Tower at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Chef Meyer has engaged in the Top echelon of restaurants that hold proud accolades such as; Four Diamond achievements, Restaurant of the Year and Wine Spectator Awards.

Chef Meyer Holds a Bachelors of Applied Science in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and an Associates of Applied Science in Business Management from Washtenaw Community College. He has completed course requirements for Thai Cuisine from the Suan Dusit International Culinary School in Bangkok and completed course requirements for Pan Asian Cuisine from At-Sunrice Culinary Academy in Singapore.

The City of Birmingham and its surrounding communities have welcomed the conceptual design of Chen Chow Brasserie since 2007. Moving forward into 2009, Executive Chef Benjamin Meyer has taken Chen Chow to the next level by incorporating fine dining in an approachable and comfortable atmosphere.
